Kia Orana,

At BCI, our priority is serving diligently our Customers and the Communities we operate in. We seek to provide a safe environment for our customers and our Team and in times such as these, it is our role and responsibility to do our best to ensure we can provide access to the products and services you need, while doing everything we can to keep our Customers and our Team safe and healthy.

We want to share some of the things we're doing to ensure everyone who comes into our branches, or who works with us are safe, as well as to do our bit to prevent the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.

Firstly we are following the advice of the Cook Islands Ministry of Health and their recommendations for minimizing the spread of this virus.

Over the past few weeks we have taken a range of precautionary measures firstly here in Rarotonga, and soon across our branches,

  • Increased cleaning and sanitization of our offices
  • Preparing our teams to ensure the health and safety of everyone.
  • Asking any team members displaying flu like symptoms to refrain from coming to work and ensure none of our team members are disadvantaged through this process.

We will continue to actively monitor the situation and act quickly and decisively on the advice of our health authorities. This may mean that things look a little different in our branch next time you visit, as we take additional precautions. We appreciate your patience and your support as our Customer.

We urge our Customers to take advantage of our electronic banking services especially if you’re feeling unwell or concerned about contracting the Coronavirus. Minimize the risk on your health and access your accounts 24 hours a day via

  • Online through My Internet Banking (MyIB);
  • Everyday Card; and
  • Vaka Debit Mastercard.

Our team are available to help Customers who are unfamiliar with our electronic banking services. If you haven’t already we encourage you to sign up TODAY!

As circumstances continue to develop, one thing will remain the same: we will make our decisions with the health, safety and wellbeing of our Customers, Team and Communities as our highest priority. So please keep in touch with us via our Facebook page (search Bank of the Cook Islands) or email: call us on 29341.

Meitaki Ma’ata,

Board of Directors, Management & Staff of the Bank of the Cook Islands
